We had spent the last four days in the hospital with our 5-year-old daughter. She was nailed with RSV, enterovirus and bacterial pneumonia. Needless to say, she hadn’t felt much like eating all week even after enticing her with lots of sweet treats. When she was discharged from the hospital, her appetite still hadn’t returned. We were instructed to keep pushing fluids and bland food.
When we came home on Friday, both my husband and I were exhausted. A dear friend offered to bring over dinner that evening. We were so grateful to just relax with all of our kids and not have to worry about making dinner.
My friend brought over a delicious assortment of foods, including BBQ sliders and Cheddar Sun Chips. Natalie’s face lit up when I showed her the sliders. She gobbled it up and then asked for more! Natalie is a very picky eater. But, wouldn’t you know it, her favorite dinner is BBQ sliders where she scoops the meat with Cheddar Sun Chips. My friend had no idea what Natalie liked to eat. When I relayed this to her, she responded with relief and amazement as she had worried that the meal was too simplistic.
God was in the details and it was amazing to see how He worked through my friend – allowing her to be His hands and feet!
